The importance of a DeLonghi water filter The hardness of your water greatly affects the taste of your coffee. This is because hard water contains more minerals (such as magnesium and bicarbonate), and these affect your extraction. Too hard water can result in an espresso with too many bitter flavours, or a predominantly flat taste. But this is only one reason why a good DeLonghi coffee machine filter matters. The second is that a DeLonghi water filter helps keep your machine free of limescale, which affects the health and lifespan of your machine. Good to know about our DeLonghi water filter This water filter is a cheaper version of the DeLonghi water filter DLSC002. It works exactly the same way and will keep your machine free of limescale for just as long. Your machine won't notice the difference, but your wallet will ;).
